About Project Arklight

Project Arklight is building the training infrastructure for America’s next industrial era.

We are combining artificial intelligence, military training science, and real-world industrial environments to radically compress the time it takes to develop technical talent.

Traditional education is organized around time spent in classrooms. Arklight is organized around demonstrated capability. Our systems personalize instruction, assess granular competency in real time, identify exactly where a trainee is breaking down, and continuously adapt the path until the standard is met.

We are starting with the hardest workforce problems in American industry: the skilled technical roles that will determine whether America can build what it needs, secure its industrial base, maintain technological leadership, and preserve the sovereign capacity to shape its own future.

Our first deployment is an accelerated electrical training operation in Brownsville, Texas, built around the needs of SpaceX.

But the ambition is much larger.

We believe the future of technical education will look less like school and more like a high-performance operating system for human capability: adaptive, measurable, rigorous, and built around what a person can actually do.

Project Arklight exists to build that system and deploy it wherever America needs builders most.

The role

The Associate Electrical Capability Engineer works alongside the Electrical Capability Engineer to provide high-frequency, hands-on coaching as Project Arklight’s cohorts scale.

The quality of an accelerated training program depends on trainees receiving enough repetitions, observation, correction, and feedback.

Your job is to make sure trainees do not disappear into the back of a large class.

You will work directly on the training floor, watch trainees perform practical electrical tasks, identify errors, reinforce the methods established by the Electrical Capability Engineer, and help trainees build competence through deliberate practice.

This is not a lecture-heavy academic role. It is a practical coaching role for someone who knows electrical work and enjoys helping other people become better at it.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Electrical Capability Engineer during hands-on practical training.
  • Work directly with trainees during electrical installation exercises.
  • Demonstrate tasks and reinforce approved techniques and methods.
  • Observe trainees while they work and provide immediate practical feedback.
  • Identify errors in execution and help trainees understand how to correct them.
  • Give trainees additional repetitions when competency has not yet been demonstrated.
  • Help maintain small-group coaching even as cohort size increases.
  • Reinforce workmanship, competency, and safety standards.
  • Help prepare and reset training stations, tools, materials, and equipment.
  • Track recurring trainee difficulties and communicate them to the Electrical Capability Engineer.
  • Support practical assessments while maintaining separation between coaching and final verification where required.
  • Adapt quickly when exercises, equipment, schedules, or cohort composition change.
  • Help create an intense but supportive culture where trainees are expected to improve quickly and perform to standard.

Qualifications

Required

  • Meaningful hands-on electrical experience.
  • Strong practical understanding of electrical installation work.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts in straightforward language.
  • Ability to demonstrate a task and help another person reproduce it.
  • Ability to observe work carefully and identify mistakes.
  • Patience combined with high standards.
  • Comfortable working closely with trainees from different backgrounds.
  • Ability to follow the instructional framework established by the Electrical Capability Engineer.
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-moving environment where the program will evolve quickly.
  • Strong respect for defined safety procedures and competency standards.

Preferred

  • Journeyman-level electrical experience or meaningful progress toward journeyman qualification.
  • Texas electrical license or a clear path toward one.
  • Commercial or industrial electrical experience.
  • OSHA, First Aid, NFPA 70E, or related credentials.
  • Experience mentoring apprentices, helpers, or junior tradespeople.
  • Previous coaching, teaching assistant, apprenticeship training, or military instructional experience.

Scope and boundaries

  • Owns: day-to-day trainee coaching, practical support, observation, instructional reinforcement, and assistance with training-floor execution.
  • Partners with: the Electrical Capability Engineer and Project Arklight operations team.
