About Project Arklight

Project Arklight is building the training infrastructure for America’s next industrial era.

We are combining artificial intelligence, military training science, and real-world industrial environments to radically compress the time it takes to develop technical talent.

Traditional education is organized around time spent in classrooms. Arklight is organized around demonstrated capability. Our systems personalize instruction, assess granular competency in real time, identify exactly where a trainee is breaking down, and continuously adapt the path until the standard is met.

We are starting with the hardest workforce problems in American industry: the skilled technical roles that will determine whether America can build what it needs, secure its industrial base, maintain technological leadership, and preserve the sovereign capacity to shape its own future.

Our first deployment is an accelerated electrical training operation in Brownsville, Texas, built around the needs of SpaceX.

But the ambition is much larger.

We believe the future of technical education will look less like school and more like a high-performance operating system for human capability: adaptive, measurable, rigorous, and built around what a person can actually do.

Project Arklight exists to build that system and deploy it wherever America needs builders most.

The role

The Founding Operations Lead is responsible for turning Project Arklight’s first deployment from an ambitious plan into a functioning training operation.

This is not a traditional operations role. You will operate at the center of a rapidly moving pilot involving instructors, trainees, curriculum, facilities, equipment, recruiting, assessment, and one of the most demanding industrial partners in the world.

You will take ambiguous objectives and turn them into clear systems, owners, deadlines, and decisions.

The founder will own the highest-level customer relationship, company strategy, and capital formation. You will own the operating machine that makes the program work.

As Project Arklight scales, the systems you build in Brownsville will become the foundation for deploying training programs across additional locations, occupations, and industrial partners.

Responsibilities

  • Own the day-to-day execution of Project Arklight’s Brownsville training operation.
  • Translate high-level program objectives into concrete execution plans with clear owners, milestones, dependencies, and deadlines.
  • Coordinate instructors, curriculum, facilities, equipment, recruiting, assessments, and trainee operations.
  • Build and operate the candidate journey from application through screening, training, assessment, interview readiness, and program completion.
  • Maintain visibility across every critical workstream and surface risks before they affect delivery.
  • Build simple operating systems, dashboards, checklists, reporting processes, and accountability mechanisms.
  • Determine staffing, scheduling, equipment, space, and resource requirements as cohort size increases.
  • Establish the daily and weekly operating cadence for the training center.
  • Coordinate closely with Project Arklight leadership and partner stakeholders to resolve dependencies quickly.
  • Turn lessons from the pilot into repeatable processes that can be deployed across future Arklight programs.
  • Continuously simplify operations and eliminate unnecessary process, delay, and bureaucracy.
  • Step directly into operational problems when necessary rather than managing them from a distance.

Qualifications

Required

  • Demonstrated success in a demanding, high-performance environment.
  • Exceptional organizational and analytical ability.
  • Ability to take an ambiguous objective and construct a clear, executable plan.
  • Strong judgment and an instinct for identifying critical-path risks early.
  • High personal ownership and bias toward action.
  • Ability to manage several interconnected workstreams without losing important details.
  • Strong written and verbal communication.
  • Comfortable making decisions with incomplete information.
  • Comfortable challenging assumptions when the operating reality does not support the plan.
  • Willingness to work hands-on in Brownsville during the launch and operation of the program.
  • Experience in management consulting, investment banking, startups, military operations, or another high-intensity environment.
  • Experience managing complex projects against aggressive deadlines.

Preferred

  • Experience launching a new program, business, operation, or site from zero to one.
  • Experience building operating systems from scratch.
  • Exposure to manufacturing, construction, workforce development, education, defense, aerospace, or industrial technology.

Scope and boundaries

  • Owns: program execution, operating cadence, workstream coordination, candidate operations, resource planning, dashboards, risk tracking, logistics, and delivery against program milestones.
  • Partners with: the founder, instructors, recruiting partners, partner-company stakeholders, vendors, and external operators.
