About Project Arklight

Project Arklight is building the training infrastructure for America’s next industrial era.

We are combining artificial intelligence, military training science, and real-world industrial environments to radically compress the time it takes to develop technical talent.

Traditional education is organized around time spent in classrooms. Arklight is organized around demonstrated capability. Our systems personalize instruction, assess granular competency in real time, identify exactly where a trainee is breaking down, and continuously adapt the path until the standard is met.

We are starting with the hardest workforce problems in American industry: the skilled technical roles that will determine whether America can build what it needs, secure its industrial base, maintain technological leadership, and preserve the sovereign capacity to shape its own future.

Our first deployment is an accelerated electrical training operation in Brownsville, Texas, built around the needs of SpaceX.

But the ambition is much larger.

We believe the future of technical education will look less like school and more like a high-performance operating system for human capability: adaptive, measurable, rigorous, and built around what a person can actually do.

Project Arklight exists to build that system and deploy it wherever America needs builders most.

The role

The Electrical Capability Engineer is responsible for developing technically capable electrical talent through Project Arklight’s accelerated training model.

This is not a conventional classroom teaching position.

We are looking for an experienced electrician who understands the work deeply enough to break it apart, demonstrate it clearly, watch another person attempt it, diagnose exactly where performance breaks down, and coach that person until they can perform to standard.

Lecture is the smallest part of the job.

The training floor is built around demonstration, deliberate practice, immediate feedback, repeated execution, and objective assessment of competency.

Project Arklight will provide the instructional framework, curriculum architecture, assessment system, and coaching methodology. You bring real field experience, technical judgment, credibility, and the ability to develop people.

The instructional model built in Brownsville will eventually become part of a system capable of training thousands of technical workers across American industry.

Responsibilities

  • Lead hands-on electrical instruction for Project Arklight trainees.
  • Demonstrate electrical installation tasks and coach trainees through repeated practical execution.
  • Teach trainees to interpret prints, understand installation requirements, and execute work against defined standards.
  • Observe trainee performance closely and identify specific competency gaps.
  • Give immediate, direct, and actionable feedback.
  • Require trainees to demonstrate capability rather than simply complete instructional hours.
  • Evaluate practical work against clearly defined competency standards.
  • Maintain objective go / no-go thresholds for trainee performance.
  • Help translate real-world electrical work into practical training exercises and assessments.
  • Work with Project Arklight to continuously improve curriculum based on actual trainee performance.
  • Adapt instructional blocks quickly when trainees struggle or operating conditions change.
  • Maintain high standards for workmanship, technical accuracy, and training-floor discipline.
  • Help train future Arklight instructors and establish the instructional culture of the organization.

Qualifications

Required

  • Many years of hands-on experience as a journeyman electrician or equivalent.
  • Significant experience performing commercial or industrial electrical work.
  • Strong practical knowledge of electrical construction and installation.
  • Experience working with raceway, electrical equipment, terminations, and construction drawings.
  • Ability to explain technical work clearly and concisely.
  • Ability to demonstrate a task and coach another person through performing it correctly.
  • Ability to recognize poor workmanship and diagnose the underlying error.
  • Comfortable coaching people with different backgrounds and levels of previous experience.
  • Willingness to change an instructional approach when it is not producing the desired result.
  • Strong professional standards and respect for defined safety boundaries.

Preferred

  • Current Texas Journeyman Electrician or Master Electrician license.
  • Master Electrician experience.
  • Experience in industrial, mission-critical, high-power, data center, manufacturing, aerospace, or similar environments.
  • OSHA, First Aid, NFPA 70E, or related credentials.
  • Experience mentoring apprentices or junior electricians.
  • Experience training people against a clearly defined technical standard.
  • Military instructional experience using demonstration, repetition, evaluation, or show-do-check methods.

Prior classroom teaching experience is not required.

We care more about whether you can perform the work and develop another person’s capability than whether you have previously held the title of instructor.

Scope and boundaries

  • Owns: electrical instruction, practical coaching, technical feedback, trainee competency development, instructional quality, and technical standards on the training floor.
  • Partners with: Project Arklight operations, assistant instructors, curriculum developers, and partner technical stakeholders.
